China eCapital Advised Bona Film Group in Series B Financing

Beijing , China , July 9, 2009 – Bona International Film Group Ltd. (Bona Group, formerly known as Polybona), a leading privately-held film production and distribution company in China , has completed its Series B financing.  Matrix Partners China led this round, with participation by Sequoia Capital China, an investor in its Series A round, as well as a reputable strategic investor.  David Su, Managing Partner of Matrix China , joined the board of the Company.

China eCapital acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Bona Group on this transaction.

Founded in 1999 by Mr. Yu Dong, a veteran in the Chinese film industry, Bona Group established its footprint in the Chinese film landscape by introducing a large number of Hong Kong films to the mainland market in early 2000' s.  In 2007, Bona received an equity investment from Sequoia and SIG.  Since then, riding on the booming Chinese film market, Bona has successfully transformed itself from a niche film distributor into a dynamic production and distribution powerhouse with a goal of becoming the Paramount of China.  In 2008, the Company distributed 14 films and grossed RMB760 million, accounting for 30% of the total box office for domestic films in China .
